Cliff Todd, Vice President of Sales, OEM & Strategic Accounts
Who is Cliff?
In my role as Vice President of Sales, OEM and Strategic Accounts, I assist customers with a solution based approach to solving their printing business needs.
I joined PTI in June of 2017 bringing with me 16 years of experience in OEM/VAR and Strategic Account Management. My experience has allowed me to help customers with successful solutions on 4 continents and many countries and regions. Helping customers succeed has not only led to a rewarding career, it has also had the happy benefit of fostering friendships around the world.
Outside of PTI I enjoy Martial Arts, Surfing, SUP, Snowboarding and Skydiving. I also enjoy the Zen of gardening and home improvement projects.
Who was your childhood idol?
There were a couple of leaders that I admired and influenced me early on. Bruce Lee was a great influence, not just in his athletic skill, his philosophy and his innovation. I also admired that he came to this country with nothing more than a dream and a will to succeed. Former President Ronald Reagan was another, Mr. Reagan’s leadership and the decisive nature in which he went about making decisions influenced me to want to mimic those characteristics.
What makes PTI a great company?
You will, no doubt read a theme with this question. My answer is unequivocally the people. My initial beginning in the print industry was with a small firm that went through several acquisitions until ultimately the company was under the fold of a Billion dollar conglomerate. By joining PTI I feel like I have returned to the roots of what customer vendor relationship should be. We are very proud to be able to offer our customers the experience of a large company with decades of experience, delivered with a small company commitment to customers first.
Have you always worked in printing? How did you get into this industry?
Early in my career I opened one then two professional photo labs so technically we were printing, albeit in a different medium. After 8 years in the photo processing industry I opted to move into network and telecomm sales, this was during the DOT COM and IPO years. It was after the collapse of the DOT COM industry that I was hired into a company that manufactured portable thermal printers. My first role was as East Coast sales for printer media. The rest, as they say, is history.
What is something unique about you that most people would never guess?
I’m very protective by nature. As a child I went through a beach/open water lifeguard program from age 8 all the way to being a full time ocean Lifeguard for three years. Even to this day, when I’m at the beach or on the water, I am always looking to make sure everyone is ok.
